I am a big fan of RPG games since the Final Fantasy era. I mostly buy and play RPG games than any other genre. The first time I heard of Hyperdimension Neptunia, I actually thought that it was just a girly game with a RPG gameplay on the side. But after playing it, that changes everything. The inner love for Nep-Nep has awaken inside of me. I was so hooked that I do not want to touch any other game than this game just to be with my wifeys.
The story of this game begins with the CPUs a.k.a my wifeys, battling a formidable foe at the Gamindustri Graveyard. Unfortunately, the CPUs were no match with this single enemy. They were all defeated and locked in the Gamindustri Graveyard.
3 years has passed, IF and Compa went to the Gamindustri Graveyard to investigate what really happened to the CPUs after missing for a long time. They soon found the CPUs all tied up. As they try to free the CPUs, an enemy shows up and stopped them from freeing the CPUs. Luckily, they still manages to free Nepgear. Nepgear tried her best to stop the enemy but the enemy was too strong for her. She still manages to buy time to let them escape but leaving her unconsious.
After a few days, Nepgear finally wakes up. Nepgear explained what happend to the CPUs. Nepgear promised that he will do all she can do free her sister and the other CPUs from the enemies. This starts the adventure of Nepgear. An adventure full of humor, love and hardship. She will meet new companions and other nation's CPU candidates along the way.
The cutscenes in this game is in 2D. It's like playing a visual novel. There are a lot of cutscenes in this game. Most cutscenes are with voiceovers and they are very fun to listen to. You can also choose Japanese or English voice in the options.
There is no travelling on foot when you wanted to visit other places in this game. Travelling is just as easy as choosing a certain place in the world map to get there. You will also not miss any event because they will be highlighted in the map. You can also interact with the NPCs and your companions in the world map. I am pretty sure you will like interacting with the other familiar faced NPCs. It is always best to talk to them as they sometimes give you plans, hints and some funny conversation.
When you enter a dungeon, the game is played in third person view. You can walk around, jump, search and hit the enemies to initiate a first turn advantage. There is also a save point lying around somewhere.
The Battle is also in third person view. During your turn, your party's turn will be based on the AGI of each characters. Highest AGI will be the first to take action. You can move your character anywhere within its movement range. You can do basic combo attack, use skills, defend, use item, etc..
You can only equip a certain type of weapon for each character. All weapons have a different range of attack. Some are wider while some are shorter. You can hit multiple enemies with the wider range weapon.
There are also side-quests in this game. Every nation have their own sets of side-quests that you can take. If you unlocked a new dungeon, be sure to check the Guild for new quests. Completing a quest will reward you with credits, items and shares. Quest are repeatable.
What I probably like the most is the Remake System. Remake system lets you add and alter the game systems, add dungeons, add monsters, develop new items and other helpful stuff. Plans are needed to add a function that you can activate in the Remake system. Materials are required to activate a plan. These materials can be acquired from the monsters, boss, dungeon, and as a reward.
One of the best feature in the game is the Stella's Dungeon. This is a mini-game where you send out Stella to a dungeon you've visited. Stella will search for treasures that may contain rare items and equipment for her. She will lost her equipment if she failed a mission. Completing a mission will take minutes to a couple of hours to complete depending on the difficulty of the location.

Score: 4 / 5
