It was hell of a ride! I said after my first few minutes with this game. It had downloaded a small portion of the game and was able to play quick match to test the game and I must say I am impressed because it really like driving a real car. That is, if you know how to drive one.

Project Cars 2 has a massive car and motorsport option to choose from. Car graphics were great and detailed indeed. I really don't know which ones to try on my first run due to that massive option. The realism on this game is superb. There are various weather in games and lanes to test that and it really stands out in the graphics department. It's really damn beautiful.

In career mode, There're 19 motorsport available the first time you'd be playing and 12 more can be unlocked overtime. Not really a motorsport lover and I tried Formula junior for the first try. There are a lot of things to manage in career mode. Why? There are events for each Motorsport and it has its own career mode. There are calendar events and tournaments to do. So that’s new career for every motorsport in the game.

There's a robust Setup edit in the game and if you don't know anything about cars, Then your doomed. Well there's a Race engineer that can auto tune the car for you but still if you don't know anything about cars you won’t be able to adjust the things that makes your car heavy. It's not just about the breaks and speeds. There are car parts that needs to be adjusted as well. So I peeked around the options menu if there's a Mario Kart Mode here and surprise! There's a realism mode that can adjust the steering and breaking assistance

Sound and Visual effects were as good as the graphics. The sound of the car engine were realistic. It's odd though that the tutorial voice goes through the Playstation controller. It like someone from the radio team is talking to you about what's going on but I don't understand sometimes what the tutorial guy is talking about due to the speaker in the controller is not that good. You can turn if off in the options anyway.

Controls, well this is where the game sucks. you can reset the car position by touch pad in case you got off the road. There's a lot to adjust in the options and AGAIN, if you are a pro then this is good for you but if not, well just leave it as it is. If you have a Driving controller setup then this is the perfect game for that. After all my calibration I still can't find the best setup for me in the options sadly. The menus are a bit confusing. There's a lot going on the menus. Not very friendly.

So, who is this game for? This is for those who loves cars and has a driving setup at home.

Pros:
  • Superb Driving experience for the pros
  • Massive number of cars to choose from
  • Great weather effects and Graphics

Cons:
  • Confusing menus
  • A bit difficult controls

Overall: 3/5
