One of anticipating game that has been bound to be a sequel but became a stand-alone game, Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky. This was developed and published by Spike Chunsoft and with the help of tri-Ace. This was released in PS4 and PSVita.
The game started from an explosion; and it happens that you are one of the victims here. But instead of dying, you’ve been transferred to a surreal world where everything is a realm. In a place that you wouldn’t know if you’re dead or alive, your journey begins to unlock the secret of so-called god named Yamatoga. Also in this world, you’ll meet other individuals that have same fate of yours. Together, and with every unique weapon and powers, you’ll explore this world and to unlock its secrets.
The game features a side-scrolling world. The stories were divided as per quest. There were also side quest in this game where you can unlock and upgrade your weaponry, level, and skills. Enemy encounter are visible. Once you’ve go on near to them the battle sequence will start. The battle system is very unique that it has similarities of turn-based game but yet the RPG concept is still there. Leveling up the character is one of primary goals in this game so expect long time grinding and repeatable quest run. One of the things that we don’t like is that the game got a serious loading times. This is happening when going to the next map level of the quest. Another thing is the noticeable lag in the battle sequence when there are too many enemies or graphic particles in the game. But despite of it, this game will be one of the best RPG game in PSVita.
Tri-Ace made a successful game name Valkyrie Profile and that game is a resemblance of this game. The masterpiece of Valkyrie Profile was a perfect image of Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky. With the battle system, stunning graphics, the unique side scrolling map; this game is must buy for PSVita System.
