Grand Kingdom Review (Playstation Vita)

Grand Kingdom is a tactical role-playing game on a medieval setting. With mercenaries fighting for fame and fortune forging contracts, doing quests and joining war for any of the 4 warring nations.




Every mission or quest has map view with a count for every move made, items and resources can be gathered while traversing the map and encounters with visible and invisible enemies happens in it. Each enemies with varying members from pack of wolves, enemy mercenaries among others.

On the battle screen characters including enemy characters are arranged on which one will attack first depending on their stat, a turn based sequence to wreck havoc. Combos can be made depending on the skills for each character, depending on their class, and every move is assigned on a specific button, swordsman combo and accuracy in hitting target are some of the fun part on the battle screen for Grand Kingdom. At first you'll have a hard time but will be easy as you have use play the game more. Variation on each team is important with careful strategy, HP is not restored after every battle, conserving and dealing one hit combos are great to finish off enemies fast, the more turns a battle takes, the more action count it consumes and the lower the morale for your team that will affect your action count limit and success in succeeding battles. There are random traps and artillery that can make every battle more challenging.




Every battle will give you experience for each of your character to level-up, You are task on how will you distribute each characters stat points depending on your need in battles. Character weapons, armors and accessories are different for each class and can have slots that can equipped with orbs that have positive effects during battles. Customize your team depending on your play style and need for every battle. Use items found during the mission or sell them for G to recruit or buy new items!




Plan and recruit different classes for different quests and battles, and every battle will be easy! Each nation have unique items, and more items is accessible if you take a contract for the said nation but also making other nation inaccessible depending on which nation is your opponent. Develop and use different formations for both defensive and invasive teams!

Single player mode is full of contents but accessing the online features battling other players will spike the fun and the replay-ability of the game. Show other players what you got!
