Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps is a multiplayer-based tactical shooter developed and published by Capcom for PS4 and PC. The game is available on digital and physical format on PS4 and digitally on PC.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps is a spin-off of the Resident Evil series. This is not your typical survival horror game where you go exploring stuff and solving puzzles, but rather a fast-paced online multiplayer third person shooting game.

There is only a little single player or offline content available in the game which only consist of simple collecting of DNA from the zombies you've killed again and again until you get bored and forget about this boring mode. (Ugh!)

This game is heavily focused on the online multiplayer mode just like the Rainbox Six Seige game by Ubisoft. But rather than 5v5, you will only have the option to play 3v3 against the other players which is a big letdown.

There are 2 modes to play in multiplayer mode, One Life & Multi-Mission. One Life is basically the Team Deathmatch mode where you need to annihilate the opposing team to win a round. The Multi-Mission has some fun modes like the one where the team who held the briefcase the most wins, etc.. Multi-Mission mode is a fun mode to play if you are getting a little bored on the tactical Team Deathmatch mode.

Each game can be done in just 10 to 15 minutes. After that, you will be taken back to the room you're connected and will be able to vote for another map and or customize your weapon and character. The game will only start when there are 6 players in the room.

What I actually see in this game is that it has a little similarity with Counter-Strike, but with zombies. The zombies are there to attack the players, specially if the opposing player throw a special grenade on the other player which can disable his/her anti-zombie gear. I actually like how you can use the zombies to your advantage.

What I didn't like is the controls. It feels like my character is on roller blades with the way it move, specially when crouching or ducking. It feels like they are floating or sliding rather than walking or crawling.

There is also a customization available in this game. You can customize the look and color of your character and guns. Most colors and costumes are locked and can be unlocked by reaching a certain level. Same goes to weapons and sub-weapons.

Not sure if it's just only me, but I've actually enjoyed playing the online multiplayer mode of this game. I've tried the single player campaign first, it almost made me delete the game on my PS4. Too bad that you can only play 3v3. Please give us 5v5 or more Capcom!

Score: 3/5

If you are like me who enjoys playing tactical online multiplayer shooter games, then I can recommend to give this game a chance, but if you are a die-hard Resident Evil fan, then you will just probably delete this game after playing a match or two.
